Teaching

Anniesland Medical Practice is a registered training practice so in addition to the six partners we are joined each year by several doctors who are experienced in hospital medicine and are now gaining advanced training in General Practice. We also host 2nd year medical students, as part of their training.

The practice is regularly assessed by NES (NHS Education For Scotland) and Glasgow University to ensure that the appropriate standards are reached to enable us to continue to train doctors.

Occasionally patients may be asked if their consultations may be recorded for teaching purposes.  This will only be done with the consent of the patient and only the doctor and their trainer have access to this video.

Medical students and Nursing students also attend the practice from time to time. We hope that you will co-operate with us and help the students to learn about general practice. However, you will be informed of their presence in advance, and if you do not want them to be present at a consultation, your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way.
